The comprehensive senior rehabilitative center at Walnut Place provides the expert care needed to quickly recover when short-term skilled nursing or rehab care is recommended. Whether you or a loved one are recovering from an illness, injury or surgery, our attending physicians and clinicians oversee all rehabilitation, from occupational therapy to physical therapy for seniors and more. The result? An impressive record of successful patient outcomes.
It’s easy to downplay the importance of rehabilitative services, but the value is immense. At minimum, we do quarterly screens for our residents to identify any changes that may result in a need for therapy services. With constant communication between therapists and nurses, our residents are at a lower risk for rapid decline. Acknowledging their deficits and seeking help allows residents to thrive in their current environment, maintain their independence for longer, and improve their overall quality of life.
At Walnut Place, we have an entire floor dedicated to comprehensive short-term rehabilitative care and includes two dining rooms, a therapy gym, and the support of nurses, therapists, and social workers—all under the direction of a physician.
We also go out of our way to provide a set schedule for residents so they can come to know and anticipate their rehabilitation. By working with the same therapists each day and at the same time, it’s much easier for residents to see the progress they are making and stay committed to therapy.
Complimentary wheelchair van transportation to the rehabilitation center at Walnut Place is provided for those who are able to leave the hospital with the ability to sit in a wheelchair.
Those staying with us for short-term rehabilitative care enjoy a private suite upon arrival. Each suite has cable television, and WiFi access so residents can keep up with their favorite sports team or news show while recovering from their illness or surgery.
Walnut Place also provides complimentary laundry services to residents in rehabilitative care.
