When we set out to design our memory care community in Dallas, we had one goal in mind. Unlike other memory care facilities, we wanted to create an environment that wasn’t hospital-like, but that was warm, inviting and felt like home for all of our residents.
In an effort to personalize our level of care for each of our Alzheimer’s and dementia care residents, we dive deep into understanding what makes them happy, sad, their likes and dislikes. We offer each memory care resident the opportunity to share their interests, passions and their desires. We use this information to build upon our memory care services in Dallas, TX and also provide them with a personalized gift upon their arrival. It’s our version of a house-warming present from the staff at Walnut Place.
We also use the insight we gain on our residents to help them structure their days with memory care activities, classes and events that are in line with what interests them. Our person-centered care is what makes all the difference. We make it our mission to do the little things that make our residents feel welcomed, valued and at home.
Our devoted and supportive team is just another piece of the puzzle that makes our person-centered approach to senior memory care unique to Walnut Place. Our staff is highly trained, kind and caring to our residents. But more than that, all of our staff members treat our memory care residents like family.
The heartfelt connections made by our residents and staff members is exactly what contributes to our residents feeling like they are at home. Our staff members develop unique relationships with each of our memory care residents and see it as more than just a job. It’s an extended family.
